Charity Partners
Society Real Estate is excited to be partnered with two outstanding charities in the Triangle: A Lotta Love and CASA. Both charities were handpicked by our team and each one embodies the very specific mission to be part of the solution to combat homelessness in the Triangle.
Society Real Estate’s charity strategy is threefold:
- A percentage of every commission we earn is earmarked to go into our charity fund. Every quarter that fund is evenly disbursed to each of our charity partners.
- Our team will participate in volunteer days, assist with special events, fundraisers, and joint marketing through social media, printed advertising, etc.
- To draw additional attention to these wonderful organizations by hosting an Awareness Social on a quarterly basis.

A Lotta Love, from the beginning called Donate a Room, started in 2014 to support HomeStart, the only Women and children shelter in Chapel Hill, Orange County NC. Homestart is run by the Inter-Faith Council, a social service organization that also runs the men’s shelter in Chapel Hill as well as a Food Pantry. It services Orange county since 1963. While necessities such as shelter, meals and health services are met there’s simply not any funds for any furnishings beyond the basics.
A Lotta Love’s mission is to empower women and their children to reclaim their pride while living in this temporary environment. With your help, we can breathe life into these sterile rooms and give them “a home away from home”. We design rooms especially for the families and when they leave, they bring their rooms with them.
CASA builds and manages affordable housing, providing opportunities for successful living. Since 1992, CASA’s affordable housing model has ended homelessness for low-income families and individuals, with an emphasis on veterans and people living with disabilities.
CASA owns and manages nearly 500 affordable apartments in Wake, Durham, and Orange counties. In addition to providing high-quality housing, we support our tenants in their homes with proactive property management and a staff that understands their particular needs.
The causes of homelessness are varied and complex, but we believe the answer is simple: the solution to homelessness is housing.
